March 2011-Very successful testing Saturday March 19th with the following results:
10 students advanced in the white belt ranks and students advanced to Rokokyu(green belt). Just to acknowledge those testing, their first names are listed below:

Noah, Jeff, Lucas, Jared, Nabhan, Joshua Holmes, Jeff, Anusha, Kerim, Joshua Butler, Lexis
Rokokyu
Rupert, Nicholas, Robert, John all moved to green belt.
Jared and Sebastian received their first stripe.
Frank, Marcos, and Marc all advanced to a second stripe on their green belt!
The next test will be scheduled for early June!
February 2011-Classes have been going very well this term at both Conestoga and Cedar Hills. Winter term always seems to go by so quickly. Testing for this term is scheduled for March 19 between 11am and 1pm at Cedar Hills Parks and Recreation. We are still working out the details of a kata workshop but are hoping to have the first one on March 5th from 11-12:30. Keep your eyes out for information in the classes.
January 2011-Classes have started again at Cedar Hills and Conestoga Recreation Centers. If you had difficulty registering, we have added space for students at the 5:00pm Friday class so there maybe room in that class-check with Cedar Hills.
The test for this term is tentatively scheduled for March 19th; details to follow.
I have added a story(or two)that I share in classes with children. If you have a link or a particular story about bullying that you like, please share it with me. I think there is still much to talk about with each other and with our children about dealing with bullies and conflict resolution and I am always looking for new thoughts and ideas to share.
December 2010

Overall, the students did well with the language part of the test, understanding the basic commands in Japanese. They also did well with the kata for their stage of development in the classes.
The next test will be in March date to be confirmed.
We are planning a bo workshop for all green belts. If you are interested in attending let us know.
October 2010
The new term has started and a couple of important dates to remember:
Cedar Hills has no classes on Friday the 15th due to the Fall Festival.
The test for this term is scheduled for December 4 in the late morning and early afternoon. Specifics will be available in November, but those wanting to test can save the date now! We use Sensei Yoshi Ito’s dojo on Beaverton Hillsdale Highway and are very thankful to him for the opportunity to test in his dojo.
I plan to have the video for tying your obi(belt)posted by the end of the week.

New classes begin today. I am always excited and interested to see what the new term will bring: who is coming back, what will the new students be like.
This term we will be testing for rank in December for those interested. The date will be available soon for planning purposes for families.
Uniform order forms are available at the classes. All regular student uniforms are $35; other uniforms are available to purchase for those interested.
